How to eat vegetables if you hate them

30 Nov

Having just upped sticks and moved to London, I’ve decided that my lifestyle needs a little bit of a change as well. Out goes a diet of take aways, crisps and beer and in comes a new regime to help me look my best in time for Christmas.

The only problem with this is that I can’t Stand vegetables. I’ve always tried to eat them, but I find the texture, as well as the taste, unbearable. There are thousands of people in the same boat – just search ‘I don’t like vegetables’ on Google and you’ll see hundreds of blog posts and forum topics on the subject.

Then you’ve got your guides on how to make vegetables so you can’t taste them – put them in a stir fry, mix them with sauce and spices etc – but if you’re like myself and lack the cooking skills to do this, what now?

Luckily, I decided to check out some other options and came up with a great way to have your 5 a day without having to spend ages preparing it and only having to taste it for around 10 seconds a day.

Doing a Google search, I came across one of These bad boys. For only £20 you can get a smoothie machine, which lets you put in your fruit and veg and come out with a drink at the end of it. Then you can go to all your supermarkets and pick up bags of frozen vegetables (around £1 per kg). You can chuck fruits in too, but I’ve always liked eating them.

If you do this in the mornings not only will you get your precious 5 a day portion that people bang on about, but it will be enough to wake you up and set you off for a hard days work. Not to mention it works with every diet plan available to you.

I’ll take a photo of myself and I’ll take another one in one months time and show you the difference. Obviously you still have to eat well for the rest of the day, but it gets your 5 a day out of the way to let you enjoy the finer things in life.
